I draw inspiration from Africa's innate variety of landscapes, animals, flowers, rocks, birds, and trees and the way her light delineates shapes and colours. Scenes that encompass hues of green, brown and blue absorb my keenest attention whilst painting on clay or canvas.
My Journey & Inspiration
After years of painting African animals, flowers, trees and landscapes on canvas using acrylic, I turned my attention to the challenge of throwing clay on my pottery wheel.
Nestled in the picturesque embrace of the Southern Drakensberg mountains, I find endless inspiration for my pottery; moulding a lump of clay into a shape that is functional, durable stoneware, and attractive to look at.
The African nature that surrounds me breathes life into every piece I create. With unwavering passion and a heart full of love for my craft, I pour my soul into producing pottery of the utmost quality.
